Before You Open the Book

What is beneath the covers? 

LOVE Boutique brings together a collection of discoveries—connections that, when brought together, present what I believe to be a cohesive picture of the gospel message of salvation. Years of studying Scripture repeatedly brought me to three questions: What is salvation? What condition—or conditions—must be met to receive it? And is it guaranteed?
This is not a sermon. It is a sharing of what I found and an invitation to examine the good news for yourself.

Is this a book about religion?

Not really.
For me, it's about a relationship with Jesus Christ. One lesson I've learned is that a book report on the Bible is one book report none of us should let someone else write for us. Open the Bible, read it for yourself, and decide what it says. If you're not sure where to begin, I recommend the Gospel of John as a preface. 

 

Why did you write it?

Because what is written is written. These are discoveries I became so passionate about that I felt compelled to organize and share them. I didn't write LOVE Boutique because I wanted to write a book. I wrote it because I wanted to share the good news with the people I care about.

My hope is that what encouraged and excited me will do the same for you.

 

Do I need to know the Bible before reading it?

No

While readers with a biblical background may appreciate some of the deeper connections, many of the discoveries require nothing more than curiosity and common sense. Whether you're opening a Bible for the first time or have been reading it for years, my hope is you'll find something that makes you stop, think, and look a little closer.

 

What Makes This Book Different?

Perspective. 

My perspective wasn't formed only by studying Scripture. Long before that, it was shaped through experiences in business, courtrooms, and legislative matters where I experienced firsthand how a single word could profoundly impact the outcome. At pivotal moments in legal matters with tremendous consequence, single words became either pillars or barriers, and both sustained victory and long-endured strife hinged on those words.

 Those experiences taught me to slow down and pay close attention to language, because a single word can determine an outcome. When I later began studying Scripture, I approached it the same way, wanting to let every word speak for itself rather than assuming what a passage meant. 

My hope is to encourage readers to look more closely. If we expect human words to be handled with precision, God's words deserve no less. That perspective shaped the book.
